Required Skills:

• Need a strong Azure architect to evaluate solutions and build a case for investment in new tools/innovation.
• For, where does it make sense to leverage 3rd party tools (like Fiserv/FIS) vs. in-house solutions
• E.g., demonstrate the value of streaming data to business and bring more investment in tools like Kafka
• Looking at EventHub SSO, streaming data (Kafka), GraphQL. Down the line, figuring out where AI fits into the equation
• Able to articulate the business value of their tech solutions

Technical standpoint:

• Azure cloud expertise
• Architectural patterns and principles (what patterns have they implemented?)
• Should have strong experience applying these to both in-house and 3rd party solutions
• Asking about Security standards & collaboration
• FIS, Fiserv for Commercial Solutions - should have strong experience implementing and integrating these platforms

Architect:

• Should have a strong understanding of the in-house development that they are doing
• Communication skills - interfacing with executives and colleagues heavily
• Must have a strong executive presence and business acumen
• Collaborative nature - "Architects can't be rigid." Need to work with the business to find the middle ground.
